Marine mollusks having a rough irregular shell found on the seabed, mostly in coastal water. The coastal waters of Brunswick County produce an abundance of oysters. Each year, over 50,000 people, including locals and visitors, attend the North Carolina Oyster Festival to pay homage to the mighty mollusk.
Join us for the 38th Annual NC Oyster Festival, October 20th & 21st, 2018 and find out for yourself why the oyster is so treasured by Brunswick County natives.
The beach center becomes a walking district that offers something for everyone: local cuisine, arts and crafts, children’s activities, live music, Oyster Stew Cook-off, the Oyster Shucking Contest, an Oyster Eating Contest.
The Festival is made possible by the Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce and the support of many generous area businesses and a wonderful group of volunteers and, most importantly, the weekend’s dedicated revelers.
